One of the best parts about being a resident in Downtown San Diego is being in close proximity to a ton of bars, restaurants, and entertainment. If you’re looking for a fun night out, check out one of these upcoming concerts in the downtown area.
Bob Sinclair at Fluxx
February 26
Fluxx offers an innovative and theatrical nightclub experience with an expansive dance floor, a VIP list filled with San Diego’s glitterati, and a roster of exciting performers to boot. French house music producer Bob Sinclair, well known for hits like “Love Generation,” “Sound of Freedom,” and “World, Hold On,” is going to rock the roof right off of Fluxx. Get in line early or go big with VIP service.
DJ E-Rock at Parq
February 27
Parq is the newest nightclub in Downtown San Diego, and it has already made a name for itself with its focus on high production value, exceptional service, and big-name performers. Chris Brown was there recently, and at the end of the month electronic music producer DJ E-Rock will take to the turntables. DJ E-Rock has been in the business for over 15 years (he’s only 30!) and has an A-list rolodex including Jaime Foxx, Tommy Lee, Travis Barker, and Lil Jon.
Yelawolf at House of Blues
March 20
House of Blues in Downtown San Diego’s Core neighborhood is well known for featuring a wide range of artists from tribute rock bands to up-and-coming pop artists. Indie rap fans will appreciate the rapid-fire rhymes of Yelawolf, an Alabama-based hip hop artist. Yelawolf, real name Michael Atha, was homeless at one point before teaming up with big names like Ed Sheeran, Travis Barker, and ASAP Rocky.
Taylor Swift at Petco Park
August 29
Although Petco Park is typically filled with baseball fans, Taylor Swift will be taking over the venue this August. Given her phenomenal success in the past year, it’s very likely that her set will sell out, so don’t wait too long to get tickets. A word of the wise to boyfriends everywhere: Get your girlfriend tickets and you’ll be up for the “Boyfriend of the Year” award. Even better? Some condos in Downtown San Diego’s East Village have great views of the stadium and residents can enjoy the show from the comfort of home.
