If you are trying to get in and out of Downtown San Diego during certain days and times between April 14 to May 28th, 2011…make sure you avoid SR-163.
Who does not love the old trees and the nature that you see while driving along the 163? Well…nature has its own way and works in mysterious ways sometimes. The old roots has been breaking and this has caused the 45-year-old Cabrillo Trunk Sewer that runs from Balboa Park along the freeway with a lot of damage…meaning it is in need of rehabilitation.
The construction of 163 Sewer Pipeline Rehabilitation Project will have to close of one lane, North or South bound, Monday to Friday nights and full closure of the freeway Friday and Saturday nights. Detour signs have been posted at the freeway on-ramps.
- Monday to Friday: 8:00 p.m. – 5:00 a.m. (One lane closure)
- Friday and Saturday: 11:00 p.m. – 9:00 a.m. (Full closure)
- No closures on Sunday nights.
