This year’s Restaurant Week may just be the best yet with 180 participating restaurants who have partnered with local vintners, farmers, fishermen, and food distributors to offer an unforgettable dining experience. What Is SDRW?
If you just moved into a Downtown San Diego condo and aren’t familiar with SDRW, it’s an annual celebration of local cuisine to support and promote local seafood, meat, beer, wine, and food purveyors. From Sunday, September 20th, through Sunday, September 27th, indulge yourself on dishes made with local ingredients at over 180 participating restaurants.
All participating restaurants will offer a three-course, prix-fixe menu at $20, $30, $40, or $50 per person as well as a two-course, prix-fixe lunch menu at $10, $15, or $20 per person.
Can’t Miss Downtown SD Restaurants
More than a dozen of downtown San Diego’s restaurants are participating in this year’s Restaurant Week. Here are a few can’t-miss spots to add to your list.
Anthony’s Fish Grotto
Established in 1946, Anthony’s Fish Grotto continues to set a standard for fresh local seafood in SD. For SDRW, Anthony’s Fish Grotto offers a two-course lunch menu for $10 served until 4pm and a three-course dinner menu at $30 served all day. Be sure to try the hand-battered fried fish and calamari combo for lunch, which includes your choice of dessert. For dinner, try the restaurant’s famous swordfish Mediterranean, which has been served in San Diego for decades.
Fogo de Chão Brazilian Steakhouse
In the mood for steak? Celebrate SDRW at Fogo de Chão in the heart of the Gaslamp District and treat yourself to fire-roasted meats carved and served tableside. Fogo de Chão’s SDRW menu ($40/person) includes a variety of meats, including lombo (pork loin filets), alcatra (tender top sirloin), fraldinha (bottom sirloin cut seasoned with sea salt), and picanha (prime sirloin).
Bandar Restaurant
Bandar Restaurant celebrates the traditions of Persian cuisine. The restaurant, which offers only organic food with the freshest ingredients, has won numerous awards since 1996 and has been voted the Best Persian Restaurant by San Diego Magazine. For Restaurant Week, Bandar Restaurant offers a prix-fixe dinner menu at $30 per person. Mouth-watering entrees include charbroiled chicken or wild king salmon, a rack of lamb, and shish kabob with marinated chunks of filet mignon.
De’Medici Cucina Italiana
De’Medici Cucina Italiana is downtown San Diego’s premier Italian restaurant with one of the city’s most memorable dining experiences. Surround yourself with old-world ambiance while enjoying authentic Italian cuisine. De’Medici’s SDRW dinner menu, priced at $50 per person, includes Pacific Ocean halibut, scaloppine alla piccata (sautéed veal with white wine sauce), and marsala chicken. ')}
