Casbah
Head down to Little Italy and rock the Casbah. This small, dark venue plays a mixture of local favorites, unknown talent, and occasionally better-known artists. The vibe is always mellow and the patio has a pool table, places to sit, and vintage arcade games.
Tin Roof
Tin Roof in the Gaslamp Quarter Downtown San Diego has an upper and lower level, with the lower having a pool table and fun drinking games like Jenga, shuffleboard, and cornhole. They have live music almost every night of the week, including Sundays after the football games. They even occasionally have music during the lunch hour. If you’re hungry, Tin Roof makes a mean handcrafted burger. Check out their happy hour, too. Monday-Friday from 3-7pm they offer half-priced drinks and appetizers.
House of Blues
The House of Blues offers major headliners as well as up-and-coming talent. Enjoy dinner at the House of Blues’ signature restaurant, Crossroads, before the show. They also have a fabulous brunch on select Sundays, complete with live gospel music. Southern specialties, like chicken and waffles, plus all of your breakfast favorites are served while legendary gospel artist, Kirk Franklin and company raise the roof.
98 Bottles
98 Bottles in Little Italy is a casual bar with a fun neighborhood feel. They have Sunday jazz in their lower lounge as well as live music in their back room. In addition to music, they have other activities for patrons, like trivia nights and a guided Vino and Paint night, where participants can try some wines and paint a picture at the same time. Happy hour is Tuesday-Saturday from 5-7pm, and they have a simple menu of fresh rustic flatbread pizzas, paninis, and appetizers.
