We need more Parks in Downtown San Diego! I am a downtown San Diego resident, along with approximately 28,000 others, and love walking out my front door and being surrounded by a vast arrary of culinary delights, the constant motion of people, Padres games, shopping and nightlife. However, there are moments when I would like nothing more than to sit somwhere green, in the shade and read a book, and altogether, momentarily escape from the downtown commotion. We do have the amazing Balboa Park, but I’m talking about inner-city parks. Downtown San Diego is filled with runner’s, walkers, bicyclists, dog owners and young urban families. So, when I read this article below I was thrilled to hear that the Centre City Development Corp. is seeking a consultant team to prepare a needs assessment for parks, open space, and recreational opportunities in Downtown San Diego.
