Vantage Pointe located in the East Village/Ballpark District in Downtown San Diego has after many ups and downs acquired a new owner. After failing as a condo project, the high rise is about to become an apartment project as the Chicago based Equity Residential is to take over. The Canadian developer Pointe of View struggled and was not able to close any condo sales and defaulted on its original $210 million construction loan. The new owner is planning for Vantage Pointe to remain a rental building for the long term.
