The $28 million first phase of the North Embarcadero Visionary Plan got its final approval from the San Diego Unified Port District last week. Even though the approval was given at least one appeal is expected to the California Coastal Commission, and state budget woes could take away the funds set aside for this project.
In the first phase of this plan the West end of Broadway will be enhanced with landscaping, wider walkways and upgraded infrastructure. There will also be a pavilion North of Broadway that includes ticket booths for Harbor excursions and information for visitors. They say if no further delays…we can all expect this to be done by mid 2013.
