When I tell friends, clients and acquaintances that dont live in Downtown San Diego that I live in a city with 1.37 million people and that I dont have a car.they look at me like Im crazy. They ask; how do you get around? I say; Im a Downtown San Diego Condo home owner and I walk everywhere.
I have lived here for quite some time now and I rarely make it through a day where I dont run into somebody that I know or recognize on the streets as I am doing my day to day routine.
Well.crazy or not.Downtown San Diego is only 1 mile x 1 mile…meaning you can walk from one side to the other in about 20 minutes. Doesnt a short walk seem to be something pretty easy going especially when you can choose your route going either along the waterfront through Seaport Village, the Italian inspired Little Italy or the vibrant Gaslamp District.
The perk of being a resident in Downtown is definitely walk-ability. You have grocery stores, restaurants, bars, bakeries, music stores and everything else you would need. Downtown San Diego is definitely a small city within a big city. ')}
