Quarter after quarter, the East Village neighborhood continues to lead the way as the most sold neighborhood in Downtown San Diego, Its not hard to figure out why. The East Village is a diverse neighborhood with historic architecture, and is built around Downtown’s premier attraction, Petco Park. Petco Park is home to the San Diego Padres baseball team as well as the venue for numerous other activities (concerts, soccer, events, etc). Since the park was built in 2003, the East Village has enjoyed a decade of development and improvements. Almost every East Village Condo for Sale was built between 2004-2009 and what was once a dicey area of industrial buildings is now the place to be in Downtown San Diego.

The East Village has a couple Downtown San Diego’s most well-known loft buildings in M2i, Fahrenheit, and Parkloft, You can find some of Downtown’s most luxury options at both The Mark and The Legend, and even your more traditional condo buildings like Alta, Icon, Nexus, Park Terrace, and Diamond Terrace. The East Village has continued to see its property values rebound in 2013 and is projected by many to continue into 2014 and beyond.
One of the big issues on the horizon that will affect the values of East Village Condos for sale is the pending plans of a new Sports & Entertainment stadium to be built in the East Village. The current plan in the works is to combine the current Chargers stadium (Qualcomm), the San Diego Sports Arena (concerts, basketball), and the convention center expansion into one super arena down in the East Village. This plan is still in its initial stages and even if approved today, would be years away from fruition. Residents of the East Village, and Downtown San Diego as a whole, would be well served by this new attraction and would likely see property values rise astronomically due to the close proximity to the new stadium. As San Diego residents, we’ve seen what impact that Petco Park had on the expansion of our Downtown, it it would not be that far off to assume that a new “super arena” would have a similar, if not greater affect.
