Veteran’s Day is here tomorrow and with that comes a celebration of gratitude and recognition for our military heroes. Here in Downtown San Diego, this year’s parade is “Commemorating 20th Anniversary of Desert Shield/Desert Storm”.
To honor the patriotism, service and love of our country these service men and women have shown, a parade of floats, military bands, and convertibles will be on display. Grandstand seating for up to 275 people is available but be sure to bring your own chairs because this parade is extremely popular (and rightly so). The parade route runs through the Columbia District on down to the Embarcadero on Pacific Highway.
After the parade, head down to the USS Midway for more celebrating. Admission to the Midway Museum is free to veteran’s and military personel but for those paying full price admission, a dollar from that will go directly to Veteran’s Village of San Diego. If you have not been to the Midway Museum, go tomorrow. It is pretty incredible and then add to that being surrounded by men and women who have fought for our freedom, what a perfect way to honor those who serve, and have served, our country.
The parade begins at 11am.
