You hear me say it over and over again…”Downtown San Diego is first and foremost a convention city”. As the expansion of the San Diego Convention Center is under process the center members are now giving us condo and loft homeowners and residents the chance to actually have a saying on how the design is to be performed.
There will be a work shop on July 14th from 4pm to 6pm at the Hilton Hotel located right next to the center in the Marina District in the Indigo Room 202 B, 1 Park Blvd., and from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, July 16 in Room 321B of the Convention Center, 111 West Harbor Dr.
A really cool thing about the expansion is the five-acre rooftop park that is a part of the design. Even though the project has not been funded yet, the corporation last year announced the selection of Fentress Architects as the lead architect for the design, which includes five acres of open space, an outdoor performance venue and an enhanced promenade on the Embarcadero right next to the water front.
